Ilocos in a different perspective

It was easy to define ILOCOS-having its pristine waters and rich ancestry. There are reasons why this place became a frequent hot spot from local and international tourists alike.

Recommendations and positive reviews filling up every seasoned and first time travel blogs but...WHY ILOCOS?

Check out our list and later you'd want to go back for another travel in the time machine. (Swimming included)

1. It's always those beaches

Despite being branded as a historic region, Ilocos still has something to boast on its marine aspect. After all, this region is surrounded by the West Philippine Sea in its North.

Beaches in Pagudpud are a perfect example as to why it is not only full of ancient things but a good getaway especially in Summer. Or you know...just take a dip and get yourself a good tan?

2. What are thoooose Capiz Windows?

In Ilocos Sur, Vigan City is hailed as one of the New 7 Wonder Cities in our fast paced technological world.
Incuding to the fact that it is also declared as a UNESCO Heritage site from having Spanish themed houses and churches still intact that depicts the colonization the country had. A quick walk in Calle Crisologo, passing by those "Mamang Kutsero" and their calesas and souvenirs.
And finally the view of these antique houses makes you don your traditional Maria Clara costume and grace the streets with demure.

3. It's getting...a little too WINDY!

Ilocos also hold the first "Wind Farm" in the Philippines and also the largest in Southeast Asia. These wide and gigantic turbines generate renewable energy for the locals...and also a breathtaking attraction as well! These Wind turbines face the West Philippine Sea in a vast stretch of Bangui's shoreline, the breeze slowly making your stay a little cooler and nicer.

4. Who can forget about food?

Every region in the Philippines has its own signature dish that's to be marveled of. In Ilocos there are plenty, as people cook for a hobby. (Kidding). There are heritage restaurants that let's you taste the famous Vigan Longganisa, crispy filled goodness of Bagnet and veggie madness of Pinakbet.
Along the historical villages you'll find an array of dining facilities in which you'll have your tummy filled with delight!

5. Ruins, Rock Formations and Museums

An odd bunch to add all of these, and yet there's more of Ilocos has to offer. Who would have thought a boulder could be an attraction? The Museums showcases artifacts of cultural importance and as well as the ruins in its significance as witnesses to the Philippines' history.

Well...what are you waiting for? We don't want to spoil you by doing an extensive research. It's still better to see this wonder from your very eyes. Hurry now and travel into the Glorious Past!
