BALER: Glimpse through the surfing capital

Extreme waves can easily be your friends if you'll take yourself into the Philippine's surfing capital! Grab a Board!

Being surrounded by bodies of water. It's no surprise that a few places in the Philippines hold shores with waters stretching across the horizon. Baler, a municipality in Aurora is hailed as one of the best beach destinations. Its main attraction is the water surges every now and then. Perfect for surfing enthusiasts and maybe just a little swim.

1. Give yourself a "water" break

Baler is along the coastline, Besides the ecstatic surfing, there are numerous ways to enjoy the waves. Swimming, snorkeling and even diving are possible! The waters are at its best during September-February so don't forget that.

2. Explore Baler's History

Beside the splash in Baler's water activities, this is also a good place to learn back the old times. Like Ilocos, there are ruins that bore witness to the Spanish colonial Era. And might as well check their museum for the Artifacts and cultural significance that made up this old capital.

3. Haunted...I think not.

The 600 year old Balete Tree is said to be the oldest and the largest Balete tree here and in Asia. It isn't haunted as one would first speculate. Visitors can challenge themselves by climbing on it's suspended branches and roots. Also, it is home to a number of animals. It's not nice to disturb them much right?

Pack your surfboards (if you have any) and take a step here now!
